Brief explanation of the sample rates (44.1 kHz or 48kHz) which should be used with this software
As discussed in FrequencyShifter: Internal Operation , the maximum frequency which can be represented in this system depends on the numerical method and normalisation used, but in any case is significantly lower than the Nyquist frequency for a linear system. Although increasing the sample rate raises the system bandwidth, it also increases the minimum detector bandwidth. In addition, higher sample rates have a deleterious effect on the low frequency respones as they cause more pronounced oscillations in the absZ output. Applying frequency shifting enables frequencies up to the Nyquist rate to be represented, so we recommend that a sample rate of either 44.1kHz or 48kHz be used to ensure the best output from the software.
